There's a whole lot to discover in this editor. Let us help you settle in.

Rich editing

First things first. Select any text to format it. Simple as that.

For those of you who love markdown, we've got you covered. Any markdown typed directly is automatically parsedโ€”*italic* results in italic (and so does ctrl/โŒ˜ + I), **bold** results in bold. You get the gist. For the full list of markdown references, check ghost.org/changelog/markdown/.

One more nifty little trick: inserting a link doesn't need to be the hassle it once was. Copy any url, select your text, and paste it.

Using cards

Any content other than text are what we call cards. Cards can be accessed by clicking the โž• button or typing / at the beginning of a paragraph.

Even better, continue typing to find the card you're looking for, hit enter, and avoid dragging your mouse altogether.

Some cards have a handy little shortcut, to keep you on track and in flow. Use --- to divide your paragraphs with a line, or ``` to add a code block. You can also drag and drop images directly into the editor to bypass the menu.

That's it.
